The much anticipated and horribly delayed:
Heatwave 2002
*Heatwave kicks off with an absolutely insane display of pyros, putting off a huge amount of heat as we kick off Heatwave as the last pay per view event ever from the illustrious Delaware Street locale of the Igloo which is being shelved for various political and financial reasons as BPCW Owner and Chief Executive Officer, James Wheeler has found funding to move to an all new, exclusive complex, affectionately dubbed the New Igloo. So as we open, JR and John Imbriani introduce a video package highlighting the run of the BPCW in their current home ranging from the Hardcore reign of Bob Van Dam, now known as RetirO that lasted over a year to the fantastic feuds between various factions including the Blue World Order, the Playboys, the emergence of Sex Fiend from the “Exciting” Pat Zoladz persona to create his Unholy Alliance to the epic battles between Icon 2000 and Captain Jimmy and all the way back to the very first BPCW event in June of 2000: Anarchy. A tear is brought to the eye of many a fan as JR and John hock the importance and relevance a structure like this has had to the fans of the BPCW. Although an upstart fed, many feuds and developments have transpired in this very ring. But not much time can be spared on this ailing subject as we are soon treated to the blaring of the Pantera and the Hardcore Legend, RetirO heads out to the ring and we’re on the way…*
Hardcore Title Match: RetirO vs. Venom (c)
The match starts off with Venom allowing RetirO to pick a weapon of his choice from the arsenal assembled at ringside. While he is doing so, Venom spears him from behind into the turnbuckle beginning a series of attacks focused at RetirO’s main weakness, his ailing lower back. A valiant albeit short-lived resurgence found RetirO in position for an Old Fart Flop from the top but Venom hit a Kurt Angle-esque flying arm drag pulling the geriatric wonder from the turnbuckle. The hardcore champion soon followed up this feat with a double powerbomb and a pin to decimate the hardcore legend in 7:32.
Your Winner and STILL BPCW Hardcore Champion: Venom
*The three competitors for the Great Lakes belt are seen walking to the arena and we proceed to cut to the C.E.O.’s office where he is again on his cell phone…*
CEO: “Don’t worry about a thing. All the details have been taken care of and everything is in order… Yeah, we’ve freed up the funds…. No, there should be no problem whatsoever. We gots it all in check buddy, no worries… Afford him? I afforded you didn’t I?… *chuckles* I’m sure we’ll have no competition… I’ve seen to that already by scheduling a little distraction. All right, I’ll see you at the free-for-all, good luck. *in TNN intern voice* PEE-UCCE!”
*We head back to the arena and JR and John discuss the possibilities of Wheeler’s statement as well as the defeat of the legend, RetirO by Venom and how quickly Raven’s Flock has consolidated a great number of the titles in their short tenure in the BPCW until they are interrupted by the sound of “Big Daddy” Bickler’s music and the announcers switch over to documenting the match. Sex Fiend comes out to a surprisingly positive response after the numerous boos for Bickler. Finally, Wagner comes out, belt around waist as always and we’re underway…
Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship Match:
Big Daddy Bickler vs. Sex Fiend vs. “Dangerous” Doug Wagner (c)
Bickler and Wagner start off double teaming Sex Fiend after he flicks both of them off and pays the price. After ejecting Fiend from the equation by tossing him to the outside, Bickler immediately jumps on Wagner and locks in a sleeper hold. The champ battles out of it and they exchange suplexes until Wagner got Bickler in position for a Dangerous Driver, but Bickler fought out of it and hit a spinning DDT of his own and went for the pin 1…2… broken up by the returning Sex Fiend! Fiend immediately focused on Bickler and continually attempted to destroy his adversary through a series of leg lock submissions until Wagner came back through and delivered a top rope splash onto both of the competitors for his belt hitting them with it in the process (he never takes it off people). Wagner attempted to pin both but only sustained a two count. After this he rolled Bickler over and tried a pin but much to his chagrin, only a 2 again. Finally, in desperation he reached over to cover the Fiend but nothing doing there as by now Fiend had significantly recovered and kicked out after the 1 count. Wagner quickly rose and nailed Bickler with a Dangerous DDT then turned to Sex Fiend who was finally making it to his feet and went for his Death Valley Driver but Sex Fiend floated over it and hit Wagner with a Sexecutioner! As he went for the pin, Bickler quickly ran in and broke it up with a sliding kick to the face. Bickler quickly made his way to the top rope for the Hennepin Hangover but was crotched by Wagner, who got into position for a hurricanrana only to be pushed off and then hit with Bickler’s version of the 360 leg drop from the top! He made the cover for the 1…2…3! And we have a new champion!
Your Winner and NEW Great Lakes Heavyweight Champion: “Big Daddy” Bickler
*After the match, Doug Wagner’s belt was stripped from him as he lay motionless on the mat. After regaining his wits and after being left alone in the middle of the ring he just sat there in disbelief not knowing what to do. He slowly got up and made his way up the ramp talking to himself and mouthing, ‘what happened?’.*
*Backstage, Sex Pistol is walking the halls and turns a corner when he runs into Jon Seitz, Val Venis, and Ian Wolfe. They stare each other down for a minute and then Pistol and Seitz embrace, followed by Val and Wolfe...*
IW: "Group Hug"
JS: "What up dogg? We just wanted to come by and wish you good luck tonight in your match against Raven. We all agree that you should kick his scrub ball ass all over the Igloo, but just in case he pulls some of that funny stuff... you just throw up the sign *makes 'west side' sign with his hand* and we'll be out there by your side... when you're a playboy, you a playboy fa life yo."
SP: *giving a quizzical, albeit understanding look* "Yeah, I'll keep that in mind... G. See you guys around."
*In unison the Playboys shoot the sign as Pistol looks back and they nod in a satisfied manner as we fade elsewhere backstage to C.E.O. Wheeler is roaming the halls talking on his cell phone...*
CEO: "Yeah... okay, so you're in the building? And you brought your boys with you? Are the accommodations we fixed you up with tight? Awesome. Well, I only have one more meeting here, and then I’ll come up and visit you during the Midwest Title match… Tight, see you soon. Peea-uce!”
*Raven comes out, with a large mark on his neck from Pistol’s previous attack and sits in the corner awaiting his opponent who appears presently. Cockily, Sex Pistol makes his way down to the ring, stopping to pose for his fireworks and then appearing to indulge a little kid, only to pull his hand away and run it through his Rocky-esque haircut, smooth as shit. He makes it into the ring and poses on the ring post to the usual chorus of boos. His negative response is broken by the course sound of Raven’s damaged vocal chords.*
RV: “Champions come and go. They live. They reign. They die. But the scum of the proverbial earth, we live in the shadow of the failure of others. We thrive in oppression. We succeed within each shortcoming of our opponents and exploit them to the point of agony. False prophets of grace and charity masked by the lies and deceit of fame and popularity cloud the minds of people. But the mistake that that false prophet has procured is that he did not finish the job which he started. He has attempted to infect the disease, which is plaguing his person to try and avoid what he knows is inevitable. Your time is over. Annihilation is your fate. Step up and receive it. The end is here. So it is written. So it shall come to pass.” *Raven raises to his feet and we’re underway.*
Raven’s Rules Match: Raven vs. Sex Pistol
The match starts off with Raven being talked down to by Pistol for his little speech while the former champ making strangling motions taunting his opponent. But, finally the long awaited debut of Raven in BPCW begins. The referee reminds both competitors that this is a Raven’s Rules match but before he can finish, Raven DDT’s him to the ground and Sex Pistol is immediately on top of the leader of the flock. They roll around and the match goes right out to the floor. Raven dominates the fight from the get-go with a slew of chair shots to the head of “the Nate One”. It takes several minutes and a good deal more damage before Pistol can finally recover by hitting a drop toe hold on Raven catapulting him directly into first the chair and then the ring steps. Pistol stomps away but Raven eventually grabs a fire extinguisher and sprays Pistol with it. He grabs a Singapore cane from Frat Boy who has been apparently sitting at ringside unbeknownst to the rest of the Igloo and decimates his opponent with it until out of nowhere Sara runs down the ramp and jumps on Raven’s back attempting to pull him off of her beau, but before she can, Lita appears from the crowd dressed in distinctly more goth clothing and rips her off and begins to beat her senseless at ringside. Unfortunately for the Flock, Sex Pistol has just enough time to recover and set up a table in the middle of the ring which he proceeds to put Raven through with a huge Sex Drive for the 1..2…3 and the win!
Your Winner by Pinfall at 8:36: Sex Pistol
*Post Match, Pistol pulls Lita off Sara and they scamper to the back amazed at their win and attempting to regain enough poise to gloat, but at the same time fearing the wrath of Raven and his Flock*
Midwest Title Match: Frat Boy vs. “Playboy” Jon Seitz
Seitz started out the match with a few words for the slovenly dressed Flock member until Frat Boy wouldn’t take anymore and pushed Seitz on his ass. The Playboy was quick to his feet and got back in his adversary’s face before slapping him in the face and giving him a crotch chop. Frat Boy fired back with a vicious series of punches to the gut of Seitz followed up by an all day suplex. He followed it up with a stomp to the privates and then posed for the crowd as Seitz writhed in pain. He then got up to the top turnbuckle and hit a huge moonsault onto the prone Playboy and made a cover, but only for a two count. He picks Seitz up and whips him across the ring and then chases after but Seitz smartly grabs onto the ropes and pulls them down as Frat Boy charges sending him spilling to the outside. He then proceeded to do a springboard body press onto Frat Boy who was just getting to his feet, only to send him back to the floor. The two competitors lay motionless for a moment but then began to stir with Frat Boy amazingly getting to his feet first and whipping the dazed Playboy into the security wall. Frat Boy thinks about continuing the attack but realizes that he needs the pinfall to win the belt and throws Seitz back into the ring at the seven count. He charged Seitz in the corner but the Playboy rolled out of the way and hit a rolling Ghetto Neckbreaker from the second rope and attepted a cover but only for the count of two! They exchange offense for the next minute or so with Seitz coming out in the lead and gathering his strength to whip Frat Boy into the corner but the man with the Jewish lineage leaped up to the top rope and hit his patented 450 splash with a half twist thrown in to floor the champ out of nowhere and pick up the 1…2…3!
Your Winner and NEW BPCW Midwest Champion: Frat Boy
*In the luxury box, C.E.O. Wheeler is shown with the mystery woman standing next to him while they clap for the great match that just occurred. She is dressed in Ms. Hancock-esque garb, only with a red suit offsetting her blonde hair instead of the trademark black of old.*
CEO: “You see, that’s what makes this federation so great. Longer matches, old school and new school all wrapped up in each other for a great mix of action and wrestling acumen. And you know what? I’m happy to have a little more of that old school coming back. I guess we’ll see just how it’ll happen after the next match, but either way, it should be interesting.”
KA: *from the background* “Hey boss, where’s the booze?”
CEO: “In the freezer, man, where else would it be? Now, back to business. I know that we’ve predominately placed you in the tag team division, but I’m sure you three will make waves wherever you go, right?”
*The camera pans over the view a White Russian being held in the hand of the whitest Russian around, Nikolai Volkoff who is sitting down in his plush luxury box arm chair and the mystery woman comes to sit on his lap in a suggestive manner. The crowd roars in approval for the missing tag team favorites*
NV: “Da, Comrade Wheeler, Da.”
*Kane walks into the picture complete with a new strappy look and proceeds to take a gulp directly from the bottle of Vodka taken from the freezer.
*
KA: “We wait for Free-For-All, then we reveal our plan to reinject the BPCW with our Communist ideals.”
NV: “Indeed Comrade Kane, de Bolsheviks are back in town, and it is time for us to re-establish the glory of our motherland.”
CEO: “Well, I guess we can just sit back and enjoy the night and see where it leads us, eh boys? And girl *smiles*”
JS: *dropping the American accent* “Da, Comrade Wheeler. Vee vil.”
*They all smile as the mystery woman kisses Nicholai and they turn their attention back to the ring where JR and John Imbriani exalt the Big Red Machine for their achievements and comment on how good it is to have them back as well as wondering who their mystery woman is. Regardless, the show must go on, and on it goes with tag team action!*
Tag Team Title Match: Nathan Hellstorm and Steven Black vs. Magnus and Saturn (c)
Before the match starts, Venom, Lita, and Frat Boy along with his new Midwest Title emerge through the crowd and take seats at ringside. Venom is holding a sign that says “The Flock Never Loses”. Despite the Titans complaints, the referee can do nothing and the match is underway. It starts out as a complete brawl Until they finally narrow it down to two competitors with Black and Magnus facing off. The two former stable mates. Magnus locks an abdominal stretch on the big man and uses Saturn to put increased torque on Black’s spine. Hellstorm tries to interfere but is held back by the ref. Magnus eventually tags Saturn in and they hit a devastating double team attack a la the Executioners era Saturn with a spinning heel kick and sweep kick simultaneously dropping Black to the mat. Saturn continues his solo assault but soon loses the advantage and Black is able to make the hot tag to Hellstorm who runs roughshod on their asses. Hellstorm continues to dominate until Saturn hits him with a flying clothesline off the ropes while he is busy with Magnus. Meanwhile, on the outside, the Playboys appear out of nowhere and begin to pummel the Flock. In the midst of the confusion, Sex Pistol runs in and hits a Sex Drive on the now in charge Saturn, but Raven comes in to stop the assault and absolutely buries Pistol with a Tornado Evenflow in the middle of the ring. The referee eventually makes his way back in from the melee at ringside and looks around seeing the slew of bodies on the ground and Raven in the middle of the ring and calls for the bell and the DQ. But before he can react, Raven DDT’s him as well and goes to pose on the turnbuckle as a squad of referee’s rush down the ramp to stop the brawl which has erupted as we fade to a commercial hyping the main event.
Double Jeopardy Match for the Women’s and World Title:
Proteus vs. "The Fallen Angel" Lauren Rath (c) & Rictor (c)
The two brothers face each other down in the middle of the ring and Lauren stands dutifully behind Rictor for a minute or so but she eventually pushes him to the side and walks in front of him to stand face to face in front of Proteus. The continue to stare down each other for a moment or so more until Rictor spins her around and they begin to argue for a moment while Proteus looks on in disbelief of their childish behavior until Lauren suddenly throws an unseen kick to the lower extremities of Proteus sending him to the ground. Rath and Rictor laugh at the trick they pulled and both begin to stomp the holy hell out of Proteus. The referee finally calls for one or the other to get out of the ring and “The Fallen Angel” bows out and lets Rictor at his brother. Youth proved to be a deciding factor throughout the match as Rictor was quick to his feet and kept Proteus off of his by attacking his injured leg still wrapped from the attack at free-for-all. Eventually Rictor gets Proteus to his feet and irish whip’s him into the corner. He quickly tags Rath in for her patented running hurrincanrana into the corner. As she runs towards her former lover she does a flip and then leaps to land on Proteus’ shoulders for the ‘rana, but Proteus springs to life, catching her and launching her onto the top rope. Before Rictor can react, Proteus hits a huge neck breaker from the top rope on Rath and takes off across the ring towards his brother! Rictor charges, but Proteus lowers his shoulder and plasters the champ with a huge shoulder tackle takedown. He goes for the pin… 1…2… shoulder up! In a fit of anger he bludgeons away at Rictors face with huge lefts and rights until Rath comes over and grabs him by the hair and starts to pull him up, but he reaches behind and grabs her by her head and stands staring her in the eyes and shaking his head ‘Taker style with his eyes bugging out. Rictor has recovered in the meantime and rushes Proteus who seems unaware, but at the last moment he moves out of the way and with his free arm helps guide his brother’s momentum over the top rope and then turns his attention back to his former lover. She tries to plead with him and goes so far as to get down on her knees and beg, but Proteus just laughs as the crowd begins to chant vulgarities. Proteus throws a fist in the air signaling for the Hook, Line and Sinker and proceeds to toss Rath around like a rag doll completely decimating her in the process and making the cover for the 1…2…3! Proteus is now the proud owner of the Women’s title! Rath lays motionless as Rictor rushes the ring and to her side as he begins to shake with rage Proteus just stands solemnly in the ring towering over them. He then moves and sits HBK style on the ropes waiting for Rictor to fight making yawning motions and taunting the champion. Rictor eventually boils over and charges his elder brother but Proteus rolls off the turnbuckle to the apron and then ropes Rictor *choking on ropes for all you uninitiated by dropping to the floor and grabbing the back of the other’s head* Rictor lies gasping in the ring and Proteus reaches below to toss in a chair which goes unnoticed by the referee who is distracted by Lauren. He places it on top of Rictor’s face and gets back on the top rope and goes to drop a huge elbow on his brother, but Rictor rolls out of the way at the last minute and grabs the chair, walloping Proteus in the process. He quickly pounces on top of his brother and locks in a crossface on his brother. Proteus struggles but to no avail! The ref picks up his hand once… twice… thrice….no! Proteus begins to crawl to the ropes and makes it but Rictor refuses to release the hold. Lauren pulls the two of them back into the middle of the ring and she locks in the Rings of Jimmy on Proteus alongside Rictor’s crossface! With blood streaming down his face, Proteus struggles desperately. Try as he may, as the camera zooms in on the crimson mask on his face we see his eyes begin to flutter. Slowly the life fades out of him and his face slowly droops to the ground as the ref lifts his hand once, twice, and three times and calls for the bell as Proteus has passed out from loss of blood and strain allowing Rictor to gain the second pinfall and retain his belt!
The Winner of the Second Fall and STILL Your BPCW World Heavyweight Champion: Rictor
*After the Match, Rictor flips the unconscious Proteus onto his back and gets in his face telling him that he will never again hold the World Title so long as Rictor is champion. He then picks him up for Lauren to slap him which she does… hard. Rictor rips off his shirt and poses Hulk style with his boot on the chest of his fallen kin and then wipes the blood of his brother across his bare chest and celebrates over Proteus as the camera fades.*
